David’s Comment: “Hag Sameah” – Have a Happy Festival
Leviticus 23:24
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

For Jewish people in Israel and around the world, this Wednesday evening sees the ushering in of what is commonly called Rosh Ha Shana, ( the  civil New Year), but according to the Bible it should be called the Yom Ha Teruah – the Feast of  Shofar Blasts (Trumpets). The Jewish people  are a resilient people – Perhaps thats why the Lord used the analogy of Israel being an Olive Tree.  Olive tress are virtually indestructible.   So the Jewish people are still here, much to the displeasure of our  Muslim neighbours and rapidly growing number of anti-Semites world-wide, and once again are preparing to celebrate the fall feasts:

Yom Ha Teruah    –       Feast of Shofar blasts
Yom Kippur    –         The Day of  Atonement
Succott    –                     The Feast of Tabernacles

The Jewish calendar revolves around the annual Biblical feast cycle. Jewish life revolves around the harvest cycle, as indeed does the Bible, which from Genesis to Revelation, is all about a harvest. It is all about God’s plan of redemption, as He prepares to harvest a people who will live forever with Him in His Kingdom. I believe that God is in the process of the restoration of all things in preparation for the return of His Son, Yeshua ( Acts 3:21) , to take up His prophesied role of Messiah, Saviour &  King of the Earth.  In Psalm 102:16, the Word tells is that  the Lord will build up Zion and then He will appear in His glory.  When the Bible says Zion, it means Israel,  however if the Church is in her correct Biblical position, grafted into the Natural Olive Tree ( Romans 11:17 ), then she is also a part of Zion, and thus is also included in the restoration process.

For the Jewish part of Zion, we have seen the restoration of the Land in 1948; the restoration of the people to the Land – 6.5 million plus Jews have come home in the last “100 years, the restoration of Jerusalem as the capital of Zion in 1967, which in turn began the restoration of the Messianic Jewish body, both here in Israel and around the world  Current estimates are between 1/2 a million to 1 million Jews who now believe that Yeshua is Messiah. And more recently, the restoration of the apostolic calling on the Jewish people as more and more Messianic Jews are taking the Word of the Lord out from
Zion ( Isaiah 2:3 )

For the grafted in Gentile part of Zion, we have seen over the same period of time, the restoration of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, accompanied by the restoration of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the restoration of the healing anointing, and the restoration of the charismatic, apostolic and prophetic anointings.  I believe that the final part of the restoration process for the Gentile Church is the restoration to her Biblical roots.   What does that mean exactly ?  I don’t have all the answers to that question, however I am sure that it does involve reconnecting with the Biblical feasts. Although we call them “Jewish Feasts”, that is not really correct, as God calls them ” My Feasts “Lev 23:2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.    (NKJ)

Because of the effects of the 2nd century separation of the Church from her true Hebraic roots and the effects of Replacement Theology, the majority of  Christians have ignored the Feasts of the LORD, and thus have missed the fact that the Jewish feast cycle portrays the prophetic calendar of the Lord. The feasts of
Passover, Unleavened Bread, First-Fruits and Shavuot have been fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Yeshua and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. These last 3 Fall feasts are all about the Lord’s return and Millenium reign and surely will be fullfilled exactly, as were the first 4. A growing number of people believe that the Rapture of God’s people will occur one year on the Feast of Yom Ha Teruah  ( 1 Cor 15;52 – at the last  Shofar ). All true Believers should be looking forward to that day, which is close, but yet a few years ( at least 7 ) in the future. That is surely something to look forward to, however we will all be here for a while yet, and are involved in a war of immense dimensions –  it is a war between the 2 spiritual kingdoms. Like Esther, we have been called to the Kingdom at such a time as this, not to be spectators, but to be soldiers in the Army of God.
( 2 Tim 2:3 & 4 – Eph 6:12-18  –   2 Cor 10:4 )

It is now 14 years since the Al Aksa Intifada broke out on the eve of  Feast of Trumpets in the year 2000.  For Israelis, it has been 14 years of the worst terror related violence that the modern nation of Israel has known. More than 1500 Israelis have been murdered or blown apart by Palestinian terrorists.  There have been thousands more terror attacks in which Israeli citisnes have been injured by missiles, mortars, suicide bombers, bullets, rocks and other even tractors.

As the  Feast of Trumpets 2001 approached, another trumpet blast was heard on September 11 th in New York and Washington.  The terror attacks on both of those US cities came with what must have been deafening explosions. Then 2 more deafening blasts as the number 1, then a few minutes later, the number 2 WTC towers came crashing down in a humungous cloud of  metal, glass, debris and dust.  Many commentators, both secular and religious saw the events of 9/11 as a wake up call.  Indeed many were awakened with a tremendous shock as they saw this unbelievable and inconceivable disaster taking place before their very eyes.  But most people have done what many of us do when the alarm clock goes off in the morning – we knock it on the head to turn it off, and go back to sleep.
WAKE UP Church – this is not the time to be dozy.  Its time to rise up and like a good soldier, cut yourself off from the things of this world and get militant  –  militant in
prayer and intercession; militant in evangelism; and militant in declaring the Word of the Lord.

What the next Jewish calendar year holds for Israel, the Church and for the World is the question we are all pondering. Only God knows !  The Bible tells us that there will be time
of Great Tribulation,  such as the  World has never seen and men’s hearts will fail them because of fear.  Not a pleasant thought, but a necessary fulfillment of Bible Prophecy that must precede the 2nd coming of Messiah.  As the Feast of Trumpets 2014 draws near we are in the period of the 4 Blood Red Moons, we are facing a growing threat from Hizbollah’s 100,000 rockets, Al Qieda and ISIS terrorists have taken over almost the full length of the Israel / Syrian border, a double solar eclipse ( very rare ) is coming in 2015.  As if that is not enough, Messianic leader Jonathan Cahn ( authior of the Harbinger ) has written a dramatic new book that seems to prove that GOD is dealing with Israel, the Church and the entire world based on missed Sabbath years.  This book, THE 3000 YEAR MYSTERY of the SHEMITAH is a must read for every Christian.  Please watch this video clip of Pat Robertson speaking to Jonathan Cahn.

In spite of the shock and grief that many are sensing as we witness our world shaking apart, Josie and I want to wish all of our
Jewish& Grafted-In brethren Hag Sameach Have a happy Feast  and  to all of our “grafted-in ”  ” fellow citizens “,
we invite you to enjoy a pre-taste of eternity and celebrate this Feast of Trumpets with the Jewish people in Israel and in the nations.

May the Lord abundantly bless you as awaken to the Shofar blast – lets be sure not to go back to sleep, but to WATCH, PRAY and PREPARE the way of the Lord’s return

Shabbat Shalom & Hag Sameach
The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist in the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel.  Please pray that Israel will turn back to their God.  Do not be silent at this most strategic time, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to.  Please also pray for a major break-through to the Muslim world, and please remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF – they are defending and fighting for the soon coming of Messiah and the Kingdom of God.

Shabbat Shalom …. David & Josie

1. ISIS Popularity Growing in Israel     Israel Today News   Sept 14th
As the Islamic State (formerly ISIS) inches closer to Israel in its sweeping conquest of Iraq and Syria, the real threat is that the extremist movement will gain a large number of followers in the Holy Land long before its current warriors reach the borders of the Jewish state. A recent government report suggested that dozens of Israeli Arabs and Palestinians have aleady planned to travel abroad to join the Islamic State. And now, there are signs that local Muslims are taking up the cause  “ISIS is on the right path,” an imam at a mosque in northern Israel preached last week. At another mosque in the area, a congregant publicly declared, “The Islamic State is the only one that can establish an Islamic state, and it is good they are punishing people. I hope they make it to Israel.”  In both those cases, and many others like them, the statements of support for ISIS were quickly followed by verbal and even physical confrontations between local Muslims both for and against the Islamic State. Many Israeli Muslims view ISIS as a threat, but the concern is that they will quickly and quietly fade to the background as the clamor from the terrorist movement’s backers grows ever louder. “When the picture becomes clear, everyone will understand that the Islamic State is the only solution for everyone. Jews should also support the state and convert to Islam,” another imam said.
In Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth, a large sign featuring the ISIS symbol and a threat against “infidels that do not accept Islam” was taken down by police, only to be put back up with little or no public outcry. Atop Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, worshippers have been photographed freely strolling about the sacred compound while carrying  ISIS flags. A
Jerusalem-based jihadist movement that previously pledged allegiance to ISIS threatened to carry out attacks against Twitter if the social media network continued to close the account of Islamic State supporters and officials. Al Musra Al Maqdisia (The Supporters Of Jerusalem) posted a message reading:  “The time has arrived to respond to Twitter’s management by directly attacking their employees and physically assassinating them!!   Those who will carry this out are the sleeper cells of death.”
Please pray that ISSI will never achieve their goals

2.  Can Qatar be Trusted ?     Israel Today News   Sept 15th
German Development Aid Minister Gerd Mueller earlier this month singled out Qatar as one of the Middle East’s leading financial sponsors of recognized terrorist organizations.  If Mueller’s assessment, which is shared by many, is accurate, then surely Qatar is an untrustworthy regime that certainly should not be relied upon by those purporting to seek peace in the ret, that’s precisely what some of America’s leading politcians and diplomats are doing. It was already noted how at the outbreak of the summer’s Gaza war, senior US Representative Nancy Pelosi saw fit to seek Qatar’s counsel regarding whether or not Hamas could be trusted. US Secretary of State John Kerry then enraged Israel when he sought the Qatar’s counsel in formulating the Obama Administration’s first, failed ceasefire proposal at the height of that same Gaza war.
Israeli officials are now calling into question the credibility of America’s chief Middle East negotiator, Martin Indyk (pictured), after The New York Times revealed that his employer, the Brookings Institution, receives a sizable portion of its funding from Qatar. “The fact that the same Qatari government [that bankrolls Hamas and other terror groups] is also a major provider of funds for a respectable Washington think tank raises a whole series of questions,” one government official told The Jerusalem Post
The White House last week rejected the notion of including Iran in its growing coalition against the Islamic State (formerly ISIS) because, among other reasons, it deems Tehran to be a leading sponsor of terrorism. Why then would the same American government not only cozy up to, but actively seek the assistance, both financially and in terms of information, of a nation that is openly aiding and abetting some of the region’s most vicious and uncompromising jihadists?
Please pray that the real intentions of Qatar will be exposed

3.  Syrian Rebels in Control on Border With Israel     Times of Israel   Sept 15th
Syrian rebels are in control of almost the entire Syrian border with Israel, a monitoring group and the Al-Arabiya news network reported Saturday.  According to the report quoted by Israel’s Channel 10, rebel forces on Friday gained control of two additional villages near Quneitra, the war-torn nation’s solitary border crossing with Israel, leaving only one village in the Syrian army’s hands. The report added that the towns of Rawadi and Hamidiyah were taken after heavy fighting between the rebels and the army, loyal to President Bashar Assad. “The regime is on the retreat before the advancing rebels,” Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP. “The regime has now lost control of about 80 percent of towns and villages in Quneitra province.” On Friday night a mortar shell exploded on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights, in what authorities believe was a stray from fighting across the border. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Meanwhile Israel Radio reported that UN peacekeepers were evacuating the equipment from Camp Faouar, their main headquarters in Syria, to Israel.   Please pray for protection over the Israelis soldiers and civilians who are close to the northern border

4. Hizbollah Plans for Next War With Israel   YNet News   Sept 15th
Hezbollah may implement its plan to invade northern Israel if a third Lebanon war breaks out, according to an estimate by the IDF Northern Command. Sources in Israel have identified a change in the Shiite terror group’s policies, which Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has defined as “breaking the silence.” There was no concrete warning of an immediate threat by Hezbollah to launch a war against Israel or a surprise ground invasion, but the concern that a single event – with casualties – may flare up and lead, in quick succession, to the outbreak of war on the northern front. The IDF believes that Nasrallah’s declarations regarding an attempt to conquer the Galilee are far from credible; there is a growing concern that in the first few days of a war on the north, Hezbollah will deploy several companies to quickly raid Israeli communities located mere meters from the border – with each company staffed by 100 to 200 fighters from the group’s special forces.  According to the IDF estimates, Hezbollah has gathered the confidence necessary to attempt an invasion operation – as it managed with force on the border towns between Syrian and Lebanon, in al-Qusayr, Arsal, and the Qalamoun Mountains. As opposed to its previous modus operandi, in which pointed attacks were carried out by small cells numbering less than a dozen people, the new estimates fear that operations would be wide-ranging and include a blitz by at least 100 fighters in order to hold an Israeli position for three to four hours. The possibilities include the seizure of part of a town, a mountain ridge, or an IDF outpost – all in order to achieve an unprecedented symbolic victory for Hezbollah.  Such an attack, according to Hezbollah publications in recent months, could occur simultaneously in four positions along the border with Israel. The western-most incursion would invade through the sea with a special naval commando force. The possible attack would include anti-tank fire on IDF forces in the area and suppressive fire from machine guns – to be preempted by a heavy barrage of large short-range rockets held by Hezbollah. These rockets, which are not of the standard variety, carry warheads with 100 to 500 kilograms of explosives. The Syrian military has used these rockets during its ongoing civil war to demolish neighborhoods. The major benefits of their rockets are their massive destructive power and the difficulty for Israel in intercepting them. The “breaking the silence” policy which Hezbollah has adopted in the past year, after seven years of relative calm on the border, mostly addressed Hezbollah’s operational response to Israeli Air Force strikes.   Please pray that the LORD will foil every plan of Israel’s enemies

5.  ISIS Has Plans for Jordan & Israel   Israel Today News    Sept 18th
The Middle East has a serious problem, and it isn’t the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Though one wouldn’t know it by the skewed focus of international media and diplomatic attention, the crisis of the Islamic State dwarfs even the most serious bouts of Israeli-Arab violence.  Over the past several months, the Islamic State (formerly known as ISIS), a Sunni Muslim group rejected by Al Qaeda as being too extreme, has not only managed to gain control over much of Iraq and Syria, but has fulfilled the long-held dream of many Sunnis by establishing a “caliphate” that demands the allegiance of all faithful Muslims.  But the Islamic State’s notorious leader, Abu Baker Al-Baghdadi, is not content with the territory he already rules. Al-Baghdadi is thinking big, and has vowed to forcibly spread Islam to the four corners of the world. Iraq was only the first target among many, and the swift defeat of the US-trained and equipped Iraqi military provided the Islamists a major morale boost.
Abdul Alhasan (name changed for security reasons), a member of the Iraqi parliament, explained the easy conquest of key Iraqi cities by pointing a blaming finger at his nation’s unpopular government.  “We poured billions of dollars into military equipment and training, but these fanatics managed to deal us a severe blow. This would not have been possible if the government listened to the will of its people,” said the politician, insisting that Iraq needs to grant greater autonomy to its diverse group of minorities and abandon the American idea of an overbearing central government.  Instead, Baghdad has strongly suppressed calls for greater regional autonomy, sparking violent clashes and dangerous shifts in allegiances. This has only made the Islamic State’s job easier, with some factions preferring the caliphate to their own government. It would appear that a unified Iraq’s days are numbered.
And while Alhassan and others remain optimistic that Iraq still has a fighting chance, the Islamic State is already moving on to new targets in its assaults on Jordanian border towns. The goal is clear: topple Jordan’s monarch and annex the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom in a march that inevitably will lead to Israel. In a face-to-face showdown, Jordan’s well-trained military and substantial regional and international backing should be too much for the Islamic State to overcome. The real threat is the Islamic State gaining supporters within Jordan. “Mass demonstrations in support of the Islamic State have already taken place in the Jordanian city of Maan,” notes Dr. Mordechai Kedar, an expert on Islam at Israel’s Bar-Ilan University. Kedar stresses that many Palestinian and Syrian refugees residing in the Kingdom are angry over the way Jordanian authorities handle their miserable living conditions,”forcing thousands to pledge allegiance to the Islamic State, which they view as a solution to their problems.”
According to the pundit, it might be in Israel’s interests to tackle this threat militarily before it has a chance to gain a foothold West of the Jordan River. While such a decision hasn’t been taken yet, rumors are that Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the US have established an operations center in Amman with the aim of developing plans to defeat the Islamic State. The Islamic State has asserted that its present focus is dealing with apostate Muslim countries, but there is no doubt the jihadist horde is inching ever closer to the Jewish state.
Please pray for Divine protection over Israel

6.  Israeli Arab Christians  Have a New Identity    Israel Today News  Sept 18th
Earlier this year, Israel took the first step in recognizing the nation’s Christians as an independent minority. Now, local Israeli Christians can register as a distinct ethnicity, as well. Lumped together with the Arab population for centuries, Israel’s Population, Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA) has been instructed to now recognize the bulk of the country’s Christians as Aramaeans, the actual ethnicity of most of the region’s Christians prior to the Arab Muslim conquest.  “The existence of the Aramean nationality is clear and obvious,” wrote Interior Minister Gideon Saar in his official directive to the PIBA.   Saar noted that local Aramean Christians have a distinct “historical heritage, religion, culture, descent and language” – all the conditions necessary to be recognized as a national or ethnic group.  The change in the national registry will be by request for those Christians born into Christian families or clans and who can speak Aramaic. A large group of Christians had already applied for such recognition four years ago, and will now be granted the desired ethnic status.
This decision “corrects a historic injustice that wrongly defined Israel’s citizens of eastern-Christian descent as ‘Christian Arabs,’ although other than their spoken language, they have absolutely no connection to the Arab nationality,” wrote Father Gabriel Naddaf . Naddaf is the spiritual leader of the Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum, which encourages local Christians to volunteer for Israeli army service and fully integrate with Israeli Jewish society.  Naddaf and like-minded Christian leaders have been arguing for years that in modern Israel, Middle East Christians are finally free to once again express themselves and their faith independent of the Muslim Arab majority.
“This is a historic moment,” forum spokesman Shadi Khalloul told Israel’s Ynet news portal. “The Aramean people are finally seeing justice after being persecuted across the region.” “Yesterday in Israel we saw the correction of an historical injustice,” wrote columnist Dror Idar in the daily newspaper
Israel Hayom. “Congratulations to the Aramean nation, and here’s to a life of fruitful coexistence in the Holy Land.”
Please pray for an even better relationship between Israeli Christian Arabs and the Jewish people

7.  Egyptian Academic Wants the Gold Back    Israel Today News   Sept 15th
“The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold… The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.” Exodus 12:35–36.
There are some in Egypt who still aren’t happy about the above, and are demanding, some 3,500 years later, that the Jews return their nation’s plundered treasure.  “We know for a fact that Moses was in this land,” stated prominent Egyptian academic Amar Ali Hassan in a July interview with Egypt’s Channel 1.  “When they (the Jews) left they stole Egypt’s gold and treasures,” he continued. “We demand that they return the treasures they stole from us.” Of greater note than Hassan’s absurd demand is the fact that a leading Arab intellectual is acknowledging Jewish history in the region. Most of Israel’s antagonists typically try to do the opposite. Dr. Amar Ali Hassan is a PHD in political science. He has worked for years at top research centers across the Middle East, and is the author of numerous books. His interview was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
