The CARMEL ALERT
David’s Comment: “Hag Sameah” – Have a Happy Festival
Leviticus 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

For Jewish people in Israel and around the world, this Wednesday evening sees the ushering in of what is commonly called Rosh Ha Shana, ( the civil New Year), but according to the Bible it should be called the Yom Ha Teruah – the Feast of Shofar Blasts (Trumpets). The Jewish people are a resilient people – Perhaps thats why the Lord used the analogy of Israel being an Olive Tree. Olive tress are virtually indestructible. So the Jewish people are still here, much to the displeasure of our Muslim neighbours and rapidly growing number of anti-Semites world-wide, and once again are preparing to celebrate the fall feasts:

Yom Ha Teruah – Feast of Shofar blasts
Yom Kippur – The Day of Atonement
Succott – The Feast of Tabernacles

The Jewish calendar revolves around the annual Biblical feast cycle. Jewish life revolves around the harvest cycle, as indeed does the Bible, which from Genesis to Revelation, is all about a harvest. It is all about God’s plan of redemption, as He prepares to harvest a people who will live forever with Him in His Kingdom. I believe that God is in the process of the restoration of all things in preparation for the return of His Son, Yeshua ( Acts 3:21) , to take up His prophesied role of Messiah, Saviour & King of the Earth. In Psalm 102:16, the Word tells is that the Lord will build up Zion and then He will appear in His glory. When the Bible says Zion, it means Israel, however if the Church is in her correct Biblical position, grafted into the Natural Olive Tree ( Romans 11:17 ), then she is also a part of Zion, and thus is also included in the restoration process.

For the Jewish part of Zion, we have seen the restoration of the Land in 1948; the restoration of the people to the Land – 6.5 million plus Jews have come home in the last “100 years, the restoration of Jerusalem as the capital of Zion in 1967, which in turn began the restoration of the Messianic Jewish body, both here in Israel and around the world Current estimates are between 1/2 a million to 1 million Jews who now believe that Yeshua is Messiah. And more recently, the restoration of the apostolic calling on the Jewish people as more and more Messianic Jews are taking the Word of the Lord out from Zion ( Isaiah 2:3 )

For the grafted in Gentile part of Zion, we have seen over the same period of time, the restoration of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, accompanied by the restoration of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the restoration of the healing anointing, and the restoration of the charismatic, apostolic and prophetic anointings. I believe that the final part of the restoration process for the Gentile Church is the restoration to her Biblical roots. What does that mean exactly ? I don’t have all the answers to that question, however I am sure that it does involve reconnecting with the Biblical feasts. Although we call them “Jewish Feasts”, that is not really correct, as God calls them ” My Feasts “. Lev 23:2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts. (NKJ)

Because of the effects of the 2nd century separation of the Church from her true Hebraic roots and the effects of Replacement Theology, the majority of Christians have ignored the Feasts of the LORD, and thus have missed the fact that the Jewish feast cycle portrays the prophetic calendar of the Lord. The feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, First-Fruits and Shavuot have been fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Yeshua and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. These last 3 Fall feasts are all about the Lord’s return and Millenium reign and surely will be fullfilled exactly, as were the first 4. A growing number of people believe that the Rapture of God’s people will occur one year on the Feast of Yom Ha Teruah ( 1 Cor 15;52 – at the last Shofar ). All true Believers should be looking forward to that day, which is close, but yet a few years ( at least 7 ) in the future. That is surely something to look forward to, however we will all be here for a while yet, and are involved in a war of immense dimensions – it is a war between the 2 spiritual kingdoms. Like Esther, we have been called to the Kingdom at such a time as this, not to be spectators, but to be soldiers in the Army of God. ( 2 Tim 2:3 & 4 – Eph 6:12-18 – 2 Cor 10:4 )

It is now 14 years since the Al Aksa Intifada broke out on the eve of Feast of Trumpets in the year 2000. For Israelis, it has been 14 years of the worst terror related violence that the modern nation of Israel has known. More than 1500 Israelis have been murdered or blown apart by Palestinian terrorists. There have been thousands more terror attacks in which Israeli citisnes have been injured by missiles, mortars, suicide bombers, bullets, rocks and other even tractors.

As the Feast of Trumpets 2001 approached, another trumpet blast was heard on September 11 th in New York and Washington. The terror attacks on both of those US cities came with what must have been deafening explosions. Then 2 more deafening blasts as the number 1, then a few minutes later, the number 2 WTC towers came crashing down in a humungous cloud of metal, glass, debris and dust. Many commentators, both secular and religious saw the events of 9/11 as a wake up call. Indeed many were awakened with a tremendous shock as they saw this unbelievable and inconceivable disaster taking place before their very eyes. But most people have done what many of us do when the alarm clock goes off in the morning – we knock it on the head to turn it off, and go back to sleep. WAKE UP Church – this is not the time to be dozy. Its time to rise up and like a good soldier, cut yourself off from the things of this world and get militant – militant in prayer and intercession; militant in evangelism; and militant in declaring the Word of the Lord.

What the next Jewish calendar year holds for Israel, the Church and for the World is the question we are all pondering. Only God knows ! The Bible tells us that there will be time of Great Tribulation, such as the World has never seen and men’s hearts will fail them because of fear. Not a pleasant thought, but a necessary fulfillment of Bible Prophecy that must precede the 2nd coming of Messiah. As the Feast of Trumpets 2014 draws near we are in the period of the 4 Blood Red Moons, we are facing a growing threat from Hizbollah’s 100,000 rockets, Al Qieda and ISIS terrorists have taken over almost the full length of the Israel / Syrian border, a double solar eclipse ( very rare ) is coming in 2015. As if that is not enough, Messianic leader Jonathan Cahn ( authior of the Harbinger ) has written a dramatic new book that seems to prove that GOD is dealing with Israel, the Church and the entire world based on missed Sabbath years. This book, THE 3000 YEAR MYSTERY of the SHEMITAH is a must read for every Christian. Please watch this video clip of Pat Robertson speaking to Jonathan Cahn. http://www.cbn.com/tv/3777934928001

In spite of the shock and grief that many are sensing as we witness our world shaking apart, Josie and I want to wish all of our Jewish& Grafted-In brethren Hag Sameach – Have a happy Feast and to all of our “grafted-in ” ” fellow citizens “, we invite you to enjoy a pre-taste of eternity and celebrate this Feast of Trumpets with the Jewish people in Israel and in the nations.

May the Lord abundantly bless you as awaken to the Shofar blast – lets be sure not to go back to sleep, but to WATCH, PRAY and PREPARE the way of the Lord’s return

Shabbat Shalom & Hag Sameach
The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist in the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Please pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent at this most strategic time, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Please also pray for a major break-through to the Muslim world, and please remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF – they are defending and fighting for the soon coming of Messiah and the Kingdom of God.

Shabbat Shalom …. David & Josie

THIS WEEKS NEWS REPORTS

1. ISIS Popularity Growing in Israel Israel Today News Sept 14th
As the Islamic State (formerly ISIS) inches closer to Israel in its sweeping conquest of Iraq and Syria, the real threat is that the extremist movement will gain a large number of followers in the Holy Land long before its current warriors reach the borders of the Jewish state. A recent government report suggested that dozens of Israeli Arabs and Palestinians have aleady planned to travel abroad to join the Islamic State. And now, there are signs that local Muslims are taking up the cause “ISIS is on the right path,” an imam at a mosque in northern Israel preached last week. At another mosque in the area, a congregant publicly declared, “The Islamic State is the only one that can establish an Islamic state, and it is good they are punishing people. I hope they make it to Israel.” In both those cases, and many others like them, the statements of support for ISIS were quickly followed by verbal and even physical confrontations between local Muslims both for and against the Islamic State. Many Israeli Muslims view ISIS as a threat, but the concern is that they will quickly and quietly fade to the background as the clamor from the terrorist movement’s backers grows ever louder. “When the picture becomes clear, everyone will understand that the Islamic State is the only solution for everyone. Jews should also support the state and convert to Islam,” another imam said.
In Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth, a large sign featuring the ISIS symbol and a threat against “infidels that do not accept Islam” was taken down by police, only to be put back up with little or no public outcry. Atop Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, worshippers have been photographed freely strolling about the sacred compound while carrying ISIS flags. A
Jerusalem-based jihadist movement that previously pledged allegiance to ISIS threatened to carry out attacks against Twitter if the social media network continued to close the account of Islamic State supporters and officials. Al Musra Al Maqdisia (The Supporters Of Jerusalem) posted a message reading: “The time has arrived to respond to Twitter’s management by directly attacking their employees and physically assassinating them!! Those who will carry this out are the sleeper cells of death.” Please pray that ISSI will never achieve their goals

2. Can Qatar be Trusted ? Israel Today News Sept 15th
German Development Aid Minister Gerd Mueller earlier this month singled out Qatar as one of the Middle East’s leading financial sponsors of recognized terrorist organizations. If Mueller’s assessment, which is shared by many, is accurate, then surely Qatar is an untrustworthy regime that certainly should not be relied upon by those purporting to seek peace in the ret, that’s precisely what some of America’s leading politcians and diplomats are doing. It was already noted how at the outbreak of the summer’s Gaza war, senior US Representative Nancy Pelosi saw fit to seek Qatar’s counsel regarding whether or not Hamas could be trusted. US Secretary of State John Kerry then enraged Israel when he sought the Qatar’s counsel in formulating the Obama Administration’s first, failed ceasefire proposal at the height of that same Gaza war.
Israeli officials are now calling into question the credibility of America’s chief Middle East negotiator, Martin Indyk (pictured), after The New York Times revealed that his employer, the Brookings Institution, receives a sizable portion of its funding from Qatar. “The fact that the same Qatari government [that bankrolls Hamas and other terror groups] is also a major provider of funds for a respectable Washington think tank raises a whole series of questions,” one government official told The Jerusalem Post.
The White House last week rejected the notion of including Iran in its growing coalition against the Islamic State (formerly ISIS) because, among other reasons, it deems Tehran to be a leading sponsor of terrorism. Why then would the same American government not only cozy up to, but actively seek the assistance, both financially and in terms of information, of a nation that is openly aiding and abetting some of the region’s most vicious and uncompromising jihadists? Please pray that the real intentions of Qatar will be exposed

3. Syrian Rebels in Control on Border With Israel Times of Israel Sept 15th
Syrian rebels are in control of almost the entire Syrian border with Israel, a monitoring group and the Al-Arabiya news network reported Saturday. According to the report quoted by Israel’s Channel 10, rebel forces on Friday gained control of two additional villages near Quneitra, the war-torn nation’s solitary border crossing with Israel, leaving only one village in the Syrian army’s hands. The report added that the towns of Rawadi and Hamidiyah were taken after heavy fighting between the rebels and the army, loyal to President Bashar Assad. “The regime is on the retreat before the advancing rebels,” Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP. “The regime has now lost control of about 80 percent of towns and villages in Quneitra province.” On Friday night a mortar shell exploded on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights, in what authorities believe was a stray from fighting across the border. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Meanwhile Israel Radio reported that UN peacekeepers were evacuating the equipment from Camp Faouar, their main headquarters in Syria, to Israel. Please pray for protection over the Israelis soldiers and civilians who are close to the northern border

4. Hizbollah Plans for Next War With Israel YNet News Sept 15th
Hezbollah may implement its plan to invade northern Israel if a third Lebanon war breaks out, according to an estimate by the IDF Northern Command. Sources in Israel have identified a change in the Shiite terror group’s policies, which Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has defined as “breaking the silence.” There was no concrete warning of an immediate threat by Hezbollah to launch a war against Israel or a surprise ground invasion, but the concern that a single event – with casualties – may flare up and lead, in quick succession, to the outbreak of war on the northern front. The IDF believes that Nasrallah’s declarations regarding an attempt to conquer the Galilee are far from credible; there is a growing concern that in the first few days of a war on the north, Hezbollah will deploy several companies to quickly raid Israeli communities located mere meters from the border – with each company staffed by 100 to 200 fighters from the group’s special forces. According to the IDF estimates, Hezbollah has gathered the confidence necessary to attempt an invasion operation – as it managed with force on the border towns between Syrian and Lebanon, in al-Qusayr, Arsal, and the Qalamoun Mountains. As opposed to its previous modus operandi, in which pointed attacks were carried out by small cells numbering less than a dozen people, the new estimates fear that operations would be wide-ranging and include a blitz by at least 100 fighters in order to hold an Israeli position for three to four hours. The possibilities include the seizure of part of a town, a mountain ridge, or an IDF outpost – all in order to achieve an unprecedented symbolic victory for Hezbollah. Such an attack, according to Hezbollah publications in recent months, could occur simultaneously in four positions along the border with Israel. The western-most incursion would invade through the sea with a special naval commando force. The possible attack would include anti-tank fire on IDF forces in the area and suppressive fire from machine guns – to be preempted by a heavy barrage of large short-range rockets held by Hezbollah. These rockets, which are not of the standard variety, carry warheads with 100 to 500 kilograms of explosives. The Syrian military has used these rockets during its ongoing civil war to demolish neighborhoods. The major benefits of their rockets are their massive destructive power and the difficulty for Israel in intercepting them. The “breaking the silence” policy which Hezbollah has adopted in the past year, after seven years of relative calm on the border, mostly addressed Hezbollah’s operational response to Israeli Air Force strikes. Please pray that the LORD will foil every plan of Israel’s enemies

5. ISIS Has Plans for Jordan & Israel Israel Today News Sept 18th
The Middle East has a serious problem, and it isn’t the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Though one wouldn’t know it by the skewed focus of international media and diplomatic attention, the crisis of the Islamic State dwarfs even the most serious bouts of Israeli-Arab violence. Over the past several months, the Islamic State (formerly known as ISIS), a Sunni Muslim group rejected by Al Qaeda as being too extreme, has not only managed to gain control over much of Iraq and Syria, but has fulfilled the long-held dream of many Sunnis by establishing a “caliphate” that demands the allegiance of all faithful Muslims. But the Islamic State’s notorious leader, Abu Baker Al-Baghdadi, is not content with the territory he already rules. Al-Baghdadi is thinking big, and has vowed to forcibly spread Islam to the four corners of the world. Iraq was only the first target among many, and the swift defeat of the US-trained and equipped Iraqi military provided the Islamists a major morale boost.
Abdul Alhasan (name changed for security reasons), a member of the Iraqi parliament, explained the easy conquest of key Iraqi cities by pointing a blaming finger at his nation’s unpopular government. “We poured billions of dollars into military equipment and training, but these fanatics managed to deal us a severe blow. This would not have been possible if the government listened to the will of its people,” said the politician, insisting that Iraq needs to grant greater autonomy to its diverse group of minorities and abandon the American idea of an overbearing central government. Instead, Baghdad has strongly suppressed calls for greater regional autonomy, sparking violent clashes and dangerous shifts in allegiances. This has only made the Islamic State’s job easier, with some factions preferring the caliphate to their own government. It would appear that a unified Iraq’s days are numbered.
And while Alhassan and others remain optimistic that Iraq still has a fighting chance, the Islamic State is already moving on to new targets in its assaults on Jordanian border towns. The goal is clear: topple Jordan’s monarch and annex the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom in a march that inevitably will lead to Israel. In a face-to-face showdown, Jordan’s well-trained military and substantial regional and international backing should be too much for the Islamic State to overcome. The real threat is the Islamic State gaining supporters within Jordan. “Mass demonstrations in support of the Islamic State have already taken place in the Jordanian city of Maan,” notes Dr. Mordechai Kedar, an expert on Islam at Israel’s Bar-Ilan University. Kedar stresses that many Palestinian and Syrian refugees residing in the Kingdom are angry over the way Jordanian authorities handle their miserable living conditions,”forcing thousands to pledge allegiance to the Islamic State, which they view as a solution to their problems.”
According to the pundit, it might be in Israel’s interests to tackle this threat militarily before it has a chance to gain a foothold West of the Jordan River. While such a decision hasn’t been taken yet, rumors are that Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the US have established an operations center in Amman with the aim of developing plans to defeat the Islamic State. The Islamic State has asserted that its present focus is dealing with apostate Muslim countries, but there is no doubt the jihadist horde is inching ever closer to the Jewish state. Please pray for Divine protection over Israel

6. Israeli Arab Christians Have a New Identity Israel Today News Sept 18th
Earlier this year, Israel took the first step in recognizing the nation’s Christians as an independent minority. Now, local Israeli Christians can register as a distinct ethnicity, as well. Lumped together with the Arab population for centuries, Israel’s Population, Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA) has been instructed to now recognize the bulk of the country’s Christians as Aramaeans, the actual ethnicity of most of the region’s Christians prior to the Arab Muslim conquest. “The existence of the Aramean nationality is clear and obvious,” wrote Interior Minister Gideon Saar in his official directive to the PIBA. Saar noted that local Aramean Christians have a distinct “historical heritage, religion, culture, descent and language” – all the conditions necessary to be recognized as a national or ethnic group. The change in the national registry will be by request for those Christians born into Christian families or clans and who can speak Aramaic. A large group of Christians had already applied for such recognition four years ago, and will now be granted the desired ethnic status.
This decision “corrects a historic injustice that wrongly defined Israel’s citizens of eastern-Christian descent as ‘Christian Arabs,’ although other than their spoken language, they have absolutely no connection to the Arab nationality,” wrote Father Gabriel Naddaf . Naddaf is the spiritual leader of the Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum, which encourages local Christians to volunteer for Israeli army service and fully integrate with Israeli Jewish society. Naddaf and like-minded Christian leaders have been arguing for years that in modern Israel, Middle East Christians are finally free to once again express themselves and their faith independent of the Muslim Arab majority.
“This is a historic moment,” forum spokesman Shadi Khalloul told Israel’s Ynet news portal. “The Aramean people are finally seeing justice after being persecuted across the region.” “Yesterday in Israel we saw the correction of an historical injustice,” wrote columnist Dror Idar in the daily newspaper Israel Hayom. “Congratulations to the Aramean nation, and here’s to a life of fruitful coexistence in the Holy Land.” Please pray for an even better relationship between Israeli Christian Arabs and the Jewish people

7. Egyptian Academic Wants the Gold Back Israel Today News Sept 15th
“The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold… The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.” Exodus 12:35–36. There are some in Egypt who still aren’t happy about the above, and are demanding, some 3,500 years later, that the Jews return their nation’s plundered treasure. “We know for a fact that Moses was in this land,” stated prominent Egyptian academic Amar Ali Hassan in a July interview with Egypt’s Channel 1. “When they (the Jews) left they stole Egypt’s gold and treasures,” he continued. “We demand that they return the treasures they stole from us.” Of greater note than Hassan’s absurd demand is the fact that a leading Arab intellectual is acknowledging Jewish history in the region. Most of Israel’s antagonists typically try to do the opposite. Dr. Amar Ali Hassan is a PHD in political science. He has worked for years at top research centers across the Middle East, and is the author of numerous books. His interview was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The CARMEL ALERT  March 7th  2014
A compilation of news reports from the past week for the information of those committed to praying
for the Restoration of Israel & the Jewish People.

David’s Comment: The Restoration of Israel is a Miracle Resurrection
Hosea 6:1 – 2   Come let us return to the Lord; for He has torn us, but He will heal us;  He has stricken us, but He will bind us up, After two days He will revive us, On the 3rd day He will raise us up that we may live in His sight

Most of you are aware that I have the incredible privilege of traveling to many nations, speaking about the Lord’s plans and purposes for Israel and the Church.  Many people make comment on the  zeal and enthusiasm with which I share the message that the Lord had given me for the Church.   I tell them ” its not difficult for me to be so enthusiastic  – Its not so much a message, it is my testimony”  –  we Messianic Jews who have returned to the land that the Lord gave eternally to our forefathers (Psalm 105:6-12) live in the midst of what the Lord is focusing on in the world today .   I often say in the course of the message that the restoration of Israel on May 14th 1948 is the greatest miracle the world has seen since the resurrection of the Son of God 2000 years ago.  In ‘Israel friendly ‘ meetings that statement is met with a chorus of ” amens ” and ” Hallelujahs “.  However in the not so ” Israel friendly ” places, that statement often brings looks of shock to many faces in the audience.  Many people have never even considered Israel to be important.

On the positive side, day by day the number of Christians who are waking up to the relevance of the restoration of Israel is increasing, how ever there are still millions of people who consider themselves to be Christians, who see the existence of Israel as of very little or of no relevance at all.   Sadly there are many, many who even despise that Israel exists and have aligned themselves with the Palestinian cause which seeks nothing less that the eradication of the state of Israel.   The proof of that statement is this  –  there are hundreds of Bible verses that speak of the latter day restoration of Israel and the ultimate acceptance of Yeshua (Jesus) as Lord and Savior, Messiah and King.  According to a number of verses this must take place before Yeshua can return (Acts 3:21, Romans 11:15). Thus if the restoration of Israel is such a key event in the return of the Lord, for which any real Christian surely must yearn with all their heart, why is that so many pastors and Bible teachers never mention it.  When did your pastor last preach about Aliyah – the return of the Jews to Israel and encourage the church to get involved ?   Praise the Lord, a few of you will be able to say ” well my pastor does “,  but that will be the exception, not the rule.

Many of you, who have had a revelation of the truth concerning Israel and the Church, have come to Josie and I and told us that your pastor has told you not to go off on a tangent, or not to get too focused on Israel.  Israel is not a tangent or an unimportant side issue –  what the Lord is doing in Israel is the main event in the preparation for the 2nd coming of the Messiah.   As the Bible says in Romans 11:18  You do not support the root, but the root supports you.  So if the Church is supported by Israel, why don’t the majority of those in leadership teach their people about it ?  In total disobediance to that verse,  some preachers even boast against the natural branches – (the Jewish people.)

I can’t help but be zealous and enthusiastic about what God is doing in Israel –  its EXCITING  to find oneself in the midst of one of the greatest miracles of all time.  What an incredible privilege to be called to live in Israel at such a time as this  – the threat of  of terror attacks, the threat of an Iranian missile attacks and all !!!

And if you think I am excited about the restoration of Israel, you are right.  Every Believer should be excited by what God is doing in Israel.  We are witnessing another miracle taking place – the spiritual restoration of Israel, as the Lord has been instigating incredible growth and advances in the Messianic congregations here in the Land.  From almost non-existence in 1967 to over 180 indigenous congregations by the end of 2013. – its a miracle !

You see, its not just a restoration – its a RESURRECTION !   It is RESURRECTION of a dead land (Mark Twain visited the Land in 1906 and described it as a land where life had once flourished …….  and then departed )    Ezekiel 37:8 – 10  “But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come.      For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown.  I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. (NKJ)

And its a RESURRECTION of a ‘dead’  people removed from their beloved God-given home land.  The Bible describes them as ‘dry bones’ in Ezekiel 36:4 –13  …….   v11  Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’
v12      “Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

and in  Hosea 6:1 – 2   Come let us return to the Lord; for He has torn us, but He will heal us;    After two days He will revive us, On the 3rd day He will raise us up that we may live in His sight

Please stop reading right here and think about it for a moment   ………………   It is indeed a RESURRECTION  –   a  RESURRECTION almost as wonderous as the  RESURRECTION of Yeshua

Our previous Pastor used the word  ‘preposterous’  to describe what is taking place in Israel today.  That word hit my spirit like a rock !  Its true –  it is indeedpreposterous to think that the Creator of the universe created Josie and I and our family to be alive in His kingdom at such time as this and to be invited to be a part of the RESURRECTION of Israel and the Jewish people.

And its not only Josie and I who have received this incredible invitation  –  SO HAVE YOU – the fact that  you are even reading this email today,  means that the Lord has connected you to the RESURRECTION of Israel, by connecting you to this ministry and perhaps others in the Land.  Not just so that you can be up to date with the news, but so that you can be informed and encouraged to be a partner and a participant in the RESURRECTION of God’s first born people – the Jewish people as we come back to life – real life, through the lifting of the veil (Romans 11:25) and the infilling of the Holy Spirit (Ezek 37:9)  – and its happening at an exponentially increasing rate.

I have written it many times before, but I will write it again – You have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this. The Lord has invited you to play a vital part in the RESURRECTION  of the Land and the of the Jewish people, through whom He has chosen to deal with the rest of the world.  Yes – the Creator of the Universe created you to be His co-laborer (1 Cor 3:9).         What a privilege – it truly is preposterous  !!!
h
The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist in the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel.  Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God.  Do not be silent at this most strategic time, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to.  Lets also pray a for break-through to the Muslims,  and please remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF – they are defending and fighting for the soon coming Kingdom of God.

Shabbat Shalom  …. David & Josie

THIS WEEKS NEWS REPORTS

1.   Abbas:  Kerry’s Framework Propsoal ‘Insanity’   Times of Israel   Feb 28th
PA President Mahmoud Abbas left a two-day meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Paris fuming over Kerry’s proposals for a framework accord between Israel and the Palestinians, the Palestinian daily Al Quds reported Wednesday. Kerry reportedly offered for Abbas to form a Palestinian capital in the Jerusalem Arab neighborhood of Beit Hanina, and suggested that Israel keep 10 settlement blocs. The Jordan Valley would not be part of a future Palestinian state, Palestinian sources said, nor would there be an international force stationed there. And Kerry reportedly demanded that the Palestinians recognize Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people. Abbas reportedly exploded with rage over Kerry’s proposals and described them as “insanity.”    Lets rejoice that the peace process is nearly dead

2. Obama Threatening Israel to Accept Peace Proposals    Israel Today News March 3rd
Israel’s mainstream media on Monday viewed US President Barack Obama’s recent interview on Blomberg as a direct threat that the Jewish state had better accept America’s Middle East peace proposal, or else.   In the interview, held in the Oval Office last Thursday, Obama appeared to lay all the blame for the lack of a peace deal with the Palestinians squarely on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s shoulders.   “If not now, when? And if not you, Mr. Prime Minister, then who?” Obama asked, insisting that if Netanyahu “does not believe that a peace deal with the Palestinians is the right thing to do for Israel, then he needs to articulate an alternative approach.”   Bloomberg correspondent Jeffrey Goldberg called Obama’s remarks “striking” and “blunter about Israel’s future than I’ve ever heard him.”
Obama went on to stress that if an Israeli-Palestinian peace accord is not reached, it is Israel that will pay the price in terms of isolation and international boycotts, and, apparently, Obama’s America won’t be there to defend its ally.  That harsh interview was published less than a day before Netanyahu was scheduled to arrive in Washington to meet with Obama, a sit-down that the Israeli leader probably thought would be less tense than his previous encounters with the president.  In truth, Netanyahu has not really been all that resistant to the American peace proposal drafted by Secretary of State John Kerry, as it meets most of Israel’s conditions for a final status agreement, or at least for negotiations working toward that goal.
As became obvious last week in Paris, the real obstacle to peace is PA leader Machmud Abbas who nearly walked out of a meeting with Kerry after labeling his proposal as “madness” for calling on the Palestinians to recognize the “Jewish state” and give up their claims to half of Jerusalem.  Upon landing in Washington on Monday, Netanyahu told reporters that Israel remains ready to move toward a peace deal, but that the Palestinians need to actually show up and accept the agreement.  “The tango in the Middle East needs at least three. For years there have been two — Israel and the US,” said Netanyahu. “Now it needs to be seen if the Palestinians are also present.”   Let’s pray that the God of Israel will deal as He deems appropriate with Obama

3.  Israeli Commandos Intercept Iranian Missile Shipment    Israel News  Report March 5th
Commando forces in the Israeli Navy Special Forces Unit, Shayetet 13, apprehended an Iranian ship carrying advanced M302 missiles, which can reach a distance of 200 kilometres (124 miles), early  Wednesday on the maritime borders between Eritrea and Sudan.    The weapons shipments were destined, it seems, to arrive in Gaza at some point.  The ship was en route to Port Sudan from the Islamic Republic of Iran.   The ship carried various kinds of weapons, including advanced missiles which were seemingly destined for use by the Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip. The forces are currently transporting the ship to the port in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, with hundreds of naval forces on board.  The weapons cargo was transported from Syria by the Iranians and then loaded onto a ship called “KLOS.C”. After leaving Iran, the ship headed for Iraq, where sacks of cement were piled on to disguise the weapons shipment.  Just two weeks ago, the ship sailed through the Suez canal, with her stated destination being Port Sudan in Sudan. From there, the plan was to transport the weapons to Egypt and through the Sinai peninsula, in order to eventually smuggle the weapons into the Gaza Strip.   The operation was carried out under an air umbrella by hundreds of naval commandos without casualties.   It was directly commanded by the IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Genera Benny Gantz from high command headquarters and the Navy Chief Major Gen Ram Rottberg from a floating command post at sea.   The rockets were flown from Syria to Iran. From the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, the ship headed into the Red Sea bound for Sudan – and it was there that it was intercepted by the Israeli commandos.   The Iranian arms ship’s progress was tracked all the way.
In congratulating the forces which seized the shipment, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu commented that this episode showed Iran’s true colours – in contrast to its diplomatic posture in nuclear negotiations with the West.    Defence Minister Moshe Ya’alon said that Iran is again exposed as the biggest arms exporter in the world to terrorist organisations   Lets give thanks to the Lord that these missiles will now not fall into the hands of  Israel’s enemies

4.  Hizbollah Preparing for War on the Northern Border    Debkafile News March 5th
The Lebanese Hizballah is about to turn Israel’s northern borders into active warfronts. Early Wednesday, March 5, an Israeli patrol sighted a group planting a roadside bomb at the Syrian-Israeli border fence near Merom Hagolan,    The patrol opened light arms, then tank, fire on the miscreants and reported hitting targets. Only five days ago, Hizballah launched two rockets against an IDF Golan outpost, causing no harm.    The explosions resounded across the Golan and Upper Galilee, but it took the IDF spokesman several hours to confirm that an Israeli post was attacked from the Hermon range for the first time since the Syrian war broke out three years ago.   The official first tried claiming the rockets were strays from the Syrian war.  Military sources, while attributing the bomb-planting bid to Hizballah, stressed that its operatives did not cross the border.   The roadside bomb attempt Wednesday was the second Hizballah attack on an Israeli military target since Israeli air strikes of February 24, on a Hizballah arms convoy and missile batteries on the Lebanon-Syrian border, for which the Lebanese Shiite group vowed revenge.
Israeli military officials have been hemming and hawing about these incidents, because they are under government orders to make sure that nothing major occurs to mar Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United States.   When he returns home at week’s end, he will decide how and when to respond to Hizballah’s provocations.

This delay has two drawbacks: 1.  It gives Hizballah – and possibly Syria – free rein to do as they please for the next few days.
2.  The delayed Israeli response may indeed egg them both on to continue – or even escalate – their military assaults with Iranian backing.

The diplomatic groundwork was laid for an escalation in a long interview President Bashar Assad’s communications adviser Bouthaina Shaaban [pictured below] gave Monday March 3 to the Lebanese Hizballah mouthpiece, the al-Mayadeen news network.    She accused Israeli military and intelligence of intervening in southern Syria, claiming its officers were overseeing the activity of three Syrian rebel militias, setting targets for them and advising them on assault tactics.   Our military and intelligence sources say that Shaaban pointedly aired her charges over a Hizballah media outlet in order to build a case for Syrian and Hizballah reprisals across their borders with Israel.    She was saying that if the IDF may operate inside Syria, the Syrians and Hizballah are equally entitled to attack Israel – certainly on the divided Golan.    The Syrian official furthermore gave Israel due warning that the attacks from Syria and Lebanon would escalate with official approval from Damascus and Beirut.   Our military sources add that neither would have launched even a low-key military campaign against Israel without sanction from Tehran.   Please pray for the present peace to hold on Israel;s northern border

5. Gaza Rockets Hit Southern Israel    Israel Today News    March 6th
Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday attempted several times to fire rockets at civilian targets in southern Israel.  One missile fired during the evening hours apparently failed to clear the security fence and landed inside Gaza. There were at least two more attempts to fire rockets into southern Israel around midnight, prompting local authorities in the Negev to sound the “Red Alert” sirens and send Israelis scrambling for their bomb shelters.  Earlier this week, the Israeli Air Force reported that it had attacked a Palestinian terror cell as it was in the final stages of preparation before launching a missile into southern Israel.   Early Wednesday morning, [Israeli naval commandoes raided a ship off the coast of Africa][ 1 after learning that it was transporting advanced medium-range missiles earmarked for Gaza’s Hamas rulers.  Had the missiles reached Gaza, they would have enabled Hamas and its allied terror groups to threaten much more of Israel than they currently can.  Lets give thanks that no-one was injured or property damaged by the rockets

6.  PM Netanyahu Stars in Israel Fill    Jerusalem Post  March 5th
While glamorous Oscar winners were still recovering from Sunday night’s Hollywood victory parties, at the nearby Paramount studio lot another international star attended the world premiere of his latest film on Tuesday evening.   The star was none other than Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, and the title of the television film is Israel: The Royal Tour. Netanyahu and his wife Sara, along with some 500 guests, attended the premiere screening of the film expected to significantly increase tourism to Israel.   The one-hour show was hosted by travel journalist Peter Greenberg and is part of a series where in each segment a country’s head of state or prime minister serves as the tour guide to that particular country.  “This film represents the beautiful Israel and the spirit of its people. These are the true faces of the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said at the screening. “I happily joined this project in order to show the world the beautiful face of the State of Israel, the land of milk and honey.”   Netanyahu said tourism was an economic growth engine that Israel needed to cultivate.   “It is important to show the world Israel as a progressive and enlightened country with scenic vistas and vibrant nightlife, and as a state that respects all religions,” he said. “It was also important for me to show the deep link between the Land of Israel and the Jewish people; I emphasized this during my visits to Jerusalem and Masada.”
Greenberg said that the film is “ two guys on a road trip and one of them just happens to be the prime minister. And he and I are talking to each other, like you and I are talking to each other.”   The two new buddies bicycled along the Jaffa beach promenade, jet skied on the Sea of Galilee, hiked up Masada, drove a dune buggy (with a hot-rodding Netanyahu at the wheel) and went rafting.   In less athletic moments, the two men dropped in at a Tel Avivnightclub, accompanied by Sara and the Netanyahus’ sonYair, and inspected hi-tech projects at the Technion.   Greenberg insisted that his film is not a PR piece for Israel.  Wilson reported.  Nevertheless, based on the show’s previous record, the tourism industry would be a major beneficiary.   Greenberg said that tourism went up almost 20 percent in Jordan after his “Royal Tour” with King Abdullah II aired, and 10% in Mexico, Peru and Jamaica after filming in those countries.   The Tourism Ministry anticipated that the film will bring an additional 200,000 tourists to Israel.   Please pray for the success of the film

7.  Israel Signs Major Cooperation Agreements with Germany and India    ICEJ News  March 6th
Efforts to boycott Israeli academic institutions took another blow this week when officials from the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot and Germany’s prestigious Max Planck Society signed a cooperation agreement for joint research in cognitive, emotional, behavioral and neurological disorders. In related news, representative of Israeli and Indian public security agencies signed a strategic cooperation agreement this week. “The agreements that were signed are a fine example of our substantial and equal partnership with India,” said Israel’s Minister of Public Security Yitzhak Aharonovich. “The various types and forms of threats the two countries face make this cooperation an indispensable one. Terror is a global threat and only through cooperation between allies can peace-seeking countries overcome such threats.”  Please pray for more countries to seek business ties with Israel
