David’s Comment: “Hag Sameah” – Have a Happy Festival
Leviticus 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

For Jewish people in Israel and around the world, this Wednesday evening sees the ushering in of what is commonly called Rosh Ha Shana, ( the civil New Year), but according to the Bible it should be called the Yom Ha Teruah – the Feast of Shofar Blasts (Trumpets). The Jewish people are a resilient people – Perhaps thats why the Lord used the analogy of Israel being an Olive Tree. Olive tress are virtually indestructible. So the Jewish people are still here, much to the displeasure of our Muslim neighbours and rapidly growing number of anti-Semites world-wide, and once again are preparing to celebrate the fall feasts:

Yom Ha Teruah – Feast of Shofar blasts
Yom Kippur – The Day of Atonement
Succott – The Feast of Tabernacles

The Jewish calendar revolves around the annual Biblical feast cycle. Jewish life revolves around the harvest cycle, as indeed does the Bible,… Continue reading

David’s Comment: NO!!!  To a Palestinian State

Lev 25:23  ‘The land shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine;    (NKJ)

I first published most of the following comment in 2010 after the Mavi Marama incident.  However as we stand on the knife edge of the so called ‘Peace Process’ that is being brokered by the United States, either succeeding to force Israel to once again give away parts of God’s Holy Land, or ending up in the trash can of history (where it belongs), I felt to republish the comment this week to be sure you are all aware of the seriousness of the matter and, that you make it a prayer priority.

As I have stressed in a number of previous comments it is very clear from the Bible that this contested land was without a shadow of doubt given by God to Abraham and the descendants of Isaac & Jacob – the Jewish people.  To claim otherwise… Continue reading

A Call to the Watchmen
Zechariah 8:22  Yes, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD YHVH.

There are several scriptures mentioned in the Tenach (Old Testament) that refer to non Jewish people coming up to Zion, to stand on  the mountains of Israel, to pray and intercede before the King of Israel on behalf of His people and His nation.  Jeremiah 31 :6,7  For there will be a day when the watchmen will cry on Mount Ephraim Arise, let us go up to Zion to the Lord our God.   The following verse speaks of what the watchmen will do once they are up on the top of Mt. Zion. it says (vs 7) They willl sing, shout, proclaim, praise and pray “Save your people Adonai.”   The word watchmen here in Hebrew is notzreem, which is the modern Hebrew word for Christians. … Continue reading

David’s Comment: “Tikkun Olam”  –  Redeeming a Broken World
To follow on from last week’s comment concerning the dramatic rise of international hatred towards Israel and the Jewish people, most of the nations of the world are unwittingly attempting to “cut off the hand that blesses them.”   At Mount Sinai God called Israel to be a light and a blessing to the nations. For religious Jews who take the Word of God seriously, one of the major concepts of the Jewish faith is Tikkun Olam or  Reparing the World.  Over the last 2000 years while the Jewish people lived in almost every country on the planet, they have blessed their host nations in the spheres of science, medicine, education, art and entertainment.  A very disproportionate percentage of the good things that the rest of the world has enjoyed over the last 2 millenia, and most of the good things that  the world enjoys today, come from the hands of the Jewish people.

Even moreso, over the last 100 years, as more than 6.5 million Jewish people have returned to the land of their forefathers – the modern State of Israel… Continue reading

CARMEL NEWS REPORTS  From DAVID SILVER

1.  Israeli Drone Kills 5 Terrorists in Sinai  –  Times of Israel  Aug 11th
At least five Egyptian terrorists were killed Friday as they prepared to launch a rocket into Israel, two senior Egyptian security officials said. If Israel indeed carried out the strike, which is presently being disputed by sources in both countries, it would be the first time since the peace treaty with Egypt was signed in 1979 that Israel has attacked in the Sinai. Some reports said the Israeli operation was coordinated with the Egyptian military – and that the strike followed a previous terrorist warning Thursday from Cairo that caused Israel to close its airport in Eilat. If the reports are true they signal a new level of cooperation between the two nations over security matters in the largely lawless Sinai Peninsula. The IDF would not comment on the alleged airstrike, saying it “does not comment on reports in foreign media outlets.”   Please pray for peace& quiet to be maintained on the Israel / Egypt border
