1.  Israeli Drone Kills 5 Terrorists in Sinai  –  Times of Israel  Aug 11th
At least five Egyptian terrorists were killed Friday as they prepared to launch a rocket into Israel, two senior Egyptian security officials said. If Israel indeed carried out the strike, which is presently being disputed by sources in both countries, it would be the first time since the peace treaty with Egypt was signed in 1979 that Israel has attacked in the Sinai. Some reports said the Israeli operation was coordinated with the Egyptian military – and that the strike followed a previous terrorist warning Thursday from Cairo that caused Israel to close its airport in Eilat. If the reports are true they signal a new level of cooperation between the two nations over security matters in the largely lawless Sinai Peninsula. The IDF would not comment on the alleged airstrike, saying it “does not comment on reports in foreign media outlets.”   Please pray for peace& quiet to be maintained on the Israel / Egypt border

2.  Terrorist Missile Intecepted Over Eilat    Israel Today News   Aug 13th
Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system successfully intercepted a missile fired by terrorists operating in the Sinai Peninsula at the southern Israel resort city of Eilat late Monday night.   The missile was fired at a time when the bulk of the city’s residents and visitors are enjoying Eilat’s famous night life.  Sirens sounded in the resort city, but officials said there was little panic. Eilat has been targeted on several occasions in recent years, and an Iron Dome battery was recently redeployed there over concerns that growing lawlessness in Sinai would increase the threat.  This latest attack was claimed by a Sinai-based Al Qaeda affiliate. The group says the attack was carried out in retaliation for the alleged killing of four of its members last week in an Israeli drone strike.  Egyptian army officials have denied that an Israeli drone penetrated Egyptian air space, and insisted there was no direct cooperations between the Israeli and Egyptian armies in rooting out Sinai-based terror groups.  Please pray that all incoming missiles will be intercepted

3.  Prisoner Release Sparks Fierce Protests   ICEJ News  Aug 12th
Angry protests have arisen in several quarters of Israel over a list released by the Israeli Prison Service on Sunday, with the names of 26 convicted Palestinian terrorists who will soon be released as part of the ongoing negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The releases, which are scheduled for Tuesday and which will culminate with a heroes welcome for the convicted murderers at the residence of PA President Mohammed Abbas in Ramallah, are proceeding despite the protests and the legal appeals of families who lost loved ones during attacks carried out by the soon-to-be-released murderers. The High Court of Justice briefly heard and dismissed a petition by the Almagor Terror Victims Association on Sunday. Another three batches of convicted murderers are scheduled to be released over the next nine months as negotiations proceed.  Please pray that the prisoner exchange will be cancelled

4.  Dempsey Meets with Gantz, Netanyahu and Ya’alon   ICEJ News   Aug 14th
Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday for security talks on Iran, Syria and the Egyptian Sinai. The meeting followed a visit to IDF headquarters on Monday when Dempsey was hosted by Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz. During his final meeting with Israeli Defense Minister Moshe “Bogie” Ya’alon on Wednesday, Dempsey was told by his host that nearly every problem in the region can be linked to Iranian meddling.
The next day  IDF aircraft launched airstrikes on terrorist targets in the northern Gaza Strip in response to rockets fired towards Sderot a few hours earlier. “The IDF air strikes were conducted in response to the rockets launched at the civilians living in the Sha’ar HaNegev regional council yesterday (Tuesday) evening,” said an IDF statement.  Please pray for the Israeli military to be awake and alert on all the borders

5.  PA Denies Jewish Right to Western Wall   Jerusalem Post   Aug 14th
The Presidential Guard of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas this week claimed the Western Wall as an Arab and Islamic site. The Western Wall is a relic of the retaining wall of the Jewish Holy Temple in Jerusalem. It was destroyed by Rome in 70CE. For nearly 2,000 years Jews were prevented from worshiping on the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site, and instead prayed at that wall, which has since become a holy site at which millions of Jews pray each year. Ongoing restrictions on Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount mean the Wall is still the primary place of Jewish worship in Jerusalem.  “Al Buraq” is the name given to the Western Wall by Arab rejectionists, who deny the Jewish connection to Jerusalem. They claim the wall has nothing to do with the Jewish Temples, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Instead, they assert it is the place where Muhammad tethered his mythical winged horse Buraq hundreds of years later, when according to Islamic legends it transported him from Mecca to Jerusalem and back – despite the fact that Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Quran.
Please pray that the Temple Mount will be opened to Jews and Christians to pray

6.  PM Netanyahu Emerges From Emergency Hernia Surgery   ICEJ News  Aug 12th
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was briefly hospitalized over the weekend for the purpose of undergoing an emergency hernia operation. The operation took place at Hadassah University Medical Center in the capital’s Ein Kerem neighborhood. Walking out of the hospital with the support of his wife Sarah, Netanyahu thanked Israelis and others who had offered their hopes for a speedy recovery. Defense Minister and Vice-Premier Moshe Ya’alon took over some of Netanyahu’s duties while he was under anesthetic. Although Netanyahu regained his Prime Ministerial authority shortly after awakening following the surgery, he is not expected to return to a full-time work schedule for at least a week.  Please pray for a full and rapid recovery for the PM

7. Doctors in Israel Treating Many Syrians    NY Times  Aug 9th
Scores of Syrian casualties from the civil war have been discreetly transported across the frontier for what is often lifesaving treatment in Israel. Most are men in their 20s or 30s, many with gunshot wounds. But in recent weeks there have been more civilians with blast wounds, among them women and children who have arrived alone and traumatized. Israel has repeatedly declared a policy of nonintervention in the Syrian civil war, but has sanctioned this small, low-profile humanitarian response to the tragedy taking place in Syria.  Pray Syrians treated with compassion in Israel will return to their country with good reports of the Jewish state.

David’s Comment May 10th 2013: The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit
Leviticus 23:15-17 ‘And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the LORD. ‘You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to the LORD. (NKJ)

I have shared a number of times how the Biblical feasts are a precise prophetic picture of what would take place hundreds,if not thousands of years later under the New Covenant. There is much to learn about,Yeshua, the Holy Spirit and God’s plan of salvation from the Biblical feasts that God calls “My appointed times”. Next Tuesday afternoon Israel will begin to celebrate the Biblical feast of Shavuot, which means the Feast of Weeks, or Pentecost as it is known in Christianity.
In Exodus 19 the Israelites arrived at Mt Sinai. The Lord called Moses up the mountain. The spirit of the Lord came down. The mountain shook, there was smoke & fire, thunder and lightning, and God wrote His law on tablets of stone with fingers of fire. This life changing event occured 49/50 days after Passover.

In Acts chapter 1 we see that Yeshua commanded His disciples not to leave Jerusalem until they received what had been promised. Then on the 50th day after Passover it happened – the refulfillment of what happened on Mt Sinai. On the day of the Feast of Shavuot the Jews in Jerusalem were all assembled together to celebrate the Feast according to YHVH’s instructions in the Torah that He gave them at the original Shavuot on Mt Sinai. The Holy Spirit of the Living God came down, there was a noise like a mighty rushing wind, and tongues of fire wrote the law on their hearts.

What happened in Jerusalem about 2000 years ago was an exact fulfillment of what happened at Mt Sinai about 1500 years earlier. At the original Shavuot God
came down and wrote his Torah on tablets of stone. At the refulfillment in Jerusalem God came down again and wrote His same Torah on the hearts of the disciples. I want to show you something else here. When I first saw this, I was totally amazed at how incredible our God is ! At Mt Sinai 3000 people died. At the refulfillment 3000 were born again – exactly the same number. Why did God do that ? And He made sure it as written down in the Bible, so that we would read about it one day – WHY ? Do you think God is trying to tell us something – maybe to give us a clue to help us see that His feasts are still important and that
ALL of His people should celebrate His “appointed times.”

I want to encourage you, as your church celebrates Pentecost this weekend, take a look back at the original event and asked the Holy Spirit to give you even more revelation about the relevance of the Biblical feasts. Perhaps you could even call your pastor during the week and asked him if he could incorporate a teaching connecting Shavuot and Pentecost in his message to Pentecost Sunday .

Let us all join our hearts in prayer over the next few days that as the Jewish people prepared to celebrate Shavuot and Christians around the world prepared to celebrate Pentecost, that the God of Israel will once again pour out His Holy Spirit in a powerful way on his people. That as the Jewish people celebrate Shavuot, He will pour out His Holy Spirit on the body of Messiah here in Israel and in the Messianic congregations in the nations, and that He will open the eyes of the Jewish people who don’t yet believer in Yeshua, and at the same time fill them with His Holy Spirit . And we will pray with you, from Israel, that he will also pour out His Holy Spirit on the Church in every nation, and that He will also open the eyes of your family and friends, neighbours and the people you work with, to see that He is God and that his Son, Yeshua, is the only way to enter into an eternal relationship with Him. In Yeshua’s Name – AMEN

The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist in the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent at this most strategic time, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray a for break-through to the Muslims, and please remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF – they are defending and fighting for the soon coming Kingdom of God.

David’s Comment: Theological Error is Endangering Israel

by Bill Koenig
Koenig’s International News 16 February 2013

As our Biblically significant times continue to unfold at a breathtaking pace, theological error is endangering Israel. The Replacement Theology part of the Church which believes the Church has replaced Israel and that there is no biblical significance to the State of Israel is damaging Israel through its statements. Approximately 100 million U.S. church attendees and 1 billion world-wide have no understanding of the biblical and prophetic significance of the modern state of Israel. Leaders of these church organisations continue to state publicly that they believe Israel has no right to make biblical claims to the Land of Israel. The Vatican, the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches continue to make statements, take positions and sponsor peace conferences that are in total opposition to the Bible. This error continues to spawn Jewish persecution and anti-Semitism, which is alive and active in Europe and gaining in other parts of the world.

The church is rapidly dying in Europe, but a few pastors such as Steven Sizer, the incumbent of the Anglican parish of Christ Church, Virginia Water, in Surrey, England, are obsessed with chastising Christian supporters of Israel, continues to call on Israel to leave the occupied land and supports an Arab state in Judea-Samaria with a capital in East Jerusalem. Sizer is doing this through his books, videos and speeches in Europe and the United States. He is also one of the co-sponsors of the “Christ at the Checkpoint” conferences with Bethlehem Bible College. Rather than addressing the very serious level of Christian persecution in the Middle East and attempting to stop the collapse of the Christian church in his country, Sizer continues to interfere with God’s land and His plan for the Jewish people.

The following are several of the main points of the “Christ at the Checkpoint Manifesto” that are completely inaccurate. Any exclusive claim to land of the Bible in the name of God is not in line with the teaching of Scripture. For Palestinian Christians, the occupation is the core issue of the conflict. Any challenge to the injustices taking place in the Holy Land must be done in Christian love. Criticism of Israel and the occupation cannot be confused with anti-Semitism and the delegitimisation of the State of Israel.

The World Jewish Daily wrote in “Vatican Synod: Jews are not chosen and have no Promised Land” that Monsignor Cyril Salim Bustros, Greek Melkite archbishop of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Boston, Mass., said at a Vatican press conference on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010: “The Holy Scriptures cannot be used to justify the return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of the Palestinians, to justify the occupation by Israel of Palestinian lands. We Christians cannot speak of the ‘promised land’ as an exclusive right for a privileged Jewish people. This promise was nullified by Christ. There is no longer a chosen people all men and women of all countries have become the chosen people.” The archbishop, speaking at a conference of Middle East Catholic clergy convened by the pope, also called for the return of Palestinian refugees and the nullification of Israel’s Jewish character.

The Times of Israel wrote in the article “At interfaith meeting in Jerusalem a grim picture of Jewish Christian relations” that Jewish-Protestant relations are currently undergoing a severe crisis after senior leaders of Mainline Protestant churches in the U.S. in October 2012 accused Israel of “widespread” human rights violations and urged Congress to reconsider military aid to Jerusalem. “I am completely pessimistic in terms of believing that I, we, are going to overturn 2,000 years of erroneous theology that has manifested itself in all kinds of diatribes and anti-Semitic factions,” said the Rev. Paul Wilkinson, the associate minister at Hazel Grove Full Gospel Church, a small pro-Israel congregation in Stockport, England. “I believe we’d be fooling ourselves if we believed that we can overturn and change what I perceive to be a Goliath of theology in the church. The Goliath we face is the Goliath of replacement theology, the Goliath of Christian Palestinianism that taunts Israel, that goads Israel, that accuses Israel, that condemns Israel and those Christians who stand with Israel,” said Wilkinson. “The problem is a spiritual one. The problem is that there is an adversary of God, of Israel, of Christians.”

In closing, the Abrahamic Covenant is an everlasting agreement that the God of Israel made with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their descendants, and no earthly political leader or church leader has the right to divide the Promised Land. Those who have attempted to divide or conquer the Land of Israel have suffered enormous consequences and will continue to do so in the future.
